What Is LEAP?
LEAP, or Leaders Exploring Academic Possibilities, is a summer program designed for rising high school freshmen. Hosted by The University of Alabama Early College, LEAP offers students an opportunity to engage in academic, leadership, and service-oriented activities over a span of five days.
The program aims to provide these young students with a taste of college life, foster leadership skills, and encourage community service involvement.
During the program, participants take part in various team-building exercises, engage in activities related to The University of Alabama majors, and have the chance to contribute to community service initiatives in Tuscaloosa. LEAP helps students explore their academic interests and develop leadership qualities while also emphasizing the importance of giving back to the community. Meet this year’s LEAP students.
In 2025, LEAP offers two camp options: one from June 9 to June 13, and another from July 14 to July 18. The application process for LEAP 2025 opens on January 1, 2025, and closes on March 15, 2025. Students who meet the criteria and are interested in the program can submit their applications during this period.
Application will open on January 1, 2025
