Incoming Freshman

Incoming freshman eager to dive into college life with confidence? Get a head start with our Summer On Campus. Familiarize yourself with all the key spots on campus before classes even begin. Discover where you’ll be learning, dining, and hanging out with ease. Connect with fellow incoming students in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Build lasting friendships that will make your transition smoother and more enjoyable. Engage with upperclassmen and orientation leaders who are dedicated to helping you succeed. Earn 6-7 college credits per summer term by enrolling in two rigorous college courses alongside other dedicated UA Early College and UA students.

High School Students

Transportation Flexibility

While the University of Alabama campus is designed for walking convenience, we understand the importance of flexibility. Students are welcome to bring their vehicles or bikes to campus, allowing them the ease of transportation within and around the campus.

How to Participate

  1. Be admitted to UA Early College and pass the UAEC 200 College Readiness Course with a score of 800 points or higher.
  2. Exhibit strong motivation and commitment to engaging in college-level work and be 16 years old by the summer term move-in day.
  3. Complete the UA Early College Summer On Campus application, including recommendations from core academic teachers, high school principals/assistant principals, and grade-level counselors. Application will be available on February 1. Deadline to apply is May 1.

Summer I Term

  • Sunday, May 25 – Move In Day
  • Monday, May 26 – SOC Kick Off
  • Tuesday, May 27 – Classes Start
  • Thursday, June 19 – No classes
  • Wednesday, June 25 – Last Day of Class
  • Thursday, June 26 and Friday, June 27 – Finals
  • Saturday, June 28 – Move out by 10 am on Saturday or after you complete your exams

Summer II Term

  • Monday, June 30 – Move In Day
  • Tuesday, July 1 – SOC Kick Off
  • Wednesday, July 2 – Classes Start
  • Friday, July 4 – No classes
  • Wednesday, July 30 – Last Day of Class
  • Thursday and Friday, July 31 and August 1 – Finals
  • Saturday, August 2 – Move out by 10 am on Saturday or after you complete your exams

When to apply for Summer On Campus

Application opens on February 1, 2025 to students that have completed or are currently enrolled in UAEC 200 College Readiness Course.
